This would be a good article for my dad to read, an avid Rush Limbaugh loving Republican, he would then use this article to prove that the government should stay out of everyones business and everything should be privatized. With the fact that nine people can use that much of the tax payers money. If the article claims that each visit is like $1,000 then their cost in those five to six years or whatever it was is like $2,678,000 divided by nine is $295,555 each. Well, hmm. But these people do have problems and so they are needing attention but not the emergency room.

I have a friend who is a paramedic with AMR. These patients are aptly called "frequent fliers". We have a handful of our own in the Portland area.
ReplyDeleteYour totally right though Ashley, they do have needs that aren't being met. Unfortunately the only person willing to help is the 911 operator.
